Start your journey into Recreational Side Mount Diving with the SDI Side Mount Diver Course. Side Mount Diving is a great way to expand your skills and allows for a redundant air source (great way to Solo Dive).

Pre Course - e-Learning module 

Day 1 - Theory, Gear Configuration

Day 2 - 2 x Open Water Dives

Water skills include managing side mount cylinders (for shore and boat entry), maintaining trim and buoyancy whist performing skills.

​

Equipment:

Two cylinders, volume appropriate for planned dive, and student gas consumption 

Two independent first and second stage regulators each with a submersible pressure gauge 

Buoyancy compensator device (BCD) with power inflator appropriate for side mount configuration 

Mask, spare mask, cutting device and fins 

Exposure suit adequate for diving environment 

Dive computer
Compass 

Surface Marker Bouy and finger spool
